When I started looking into companies that buy houses for cash, I was generally suspicious and with good reason. I initially went under contract with a different company, only for them to bring up a bunch of false “requirements” that supposedly lowered the value of my dad’s vacant house by over 50%. When approaching these companies, a lot of people are in very vulnerable positions and it’s easy for them to be taken advantage of. Had I not been helping my parents through the process, they would probably have ended up selling the house to a different company for less than they paid for it.
